I've owned Leathermans over the past 20 years exclusively, including the original SuperTool, the Squirt models, Micra models, Wave, SuperTool 200, Charge AL, Charge ALX, Core, and Charge TTi, among other. I bought a Charge ALX about four years ago. The liner lock on the knife was poorly designed (liner locks are not very durable locks) and when I was woodworking, the knife's lock failed and closed on my fingers, almost severing one. I then had a TTi. It is of decent quality, but it's poor ergonomics and durability has really let me down. Thus far, I have destroyed two pliers. The other tools are progressively wearing to the point in which they are no longer useful. My original Leatherman, which is now 20 years old, has none of these issues. Therefore, it left me pretty bummed.

I gave up with the TTi and bought a Victorinox SwissTool Spirit Plus. It's far more ergonomic and easy to hold/move, the finish is better, it's lock is stronger, it's tolerances are tighter without play, the edges on parts and bits have not deformed, it uses standard bits so you don't have to buy fancy ones from the maker, the pliers have done fine with all work thrown at it, and you can easily open whatever tool you want without having to open another partially to access it. The SwissTool addresses virtually every concern I had. Overall, the Spirit gives a lot more refinement and ease of use than other models.

Also, the use of a swivel belt holster rather than a pocket clip works better. Be sure to buy a swivel holster...you will love it. The SwissTool is now my daily-carry and use model and my TTi just sits on my desk. Also, the SwissTool Spirit is about half the price (look for Amazon sales...it is sometimes about $50 just for the tool and sheath, and $80 for the tool and sheath plus their bit kit). IMO the SwissTool is among the finest or the finest multis I have ever owned, and yet it is significantly less than many other models.

Also, I do not know what Amazon is thinking by saying it weighs 5 ounces. It weights 7.4 ounces, tool only.
