The 28" black Damascus double-edged blade of this Shinwa Katana is built to perform with razor sharp edges on both sides. The intricately detailed tsuba and guard will have you wondering which Japanese sword master handcrafted this gorgeous weapon. The handle is wrapped in a dark teal cord to match the cord wrapped wood scabbard that is included with each sword.

Sword: The description does NOT deal this blade justice. The blade is extremely sharp and sturdy, was well lubricated (poor quality swords usually are not lubricated), the guard looks fantastic, the hilt matches the guard, the cord is very comfortable and looks great, and the blade has a dark reddish/orange wood stain pattern that looks fantastic (I usually dislike flashy designs, but these are subtle and look magnificent).

Sheath: On the outside it looks fantastic and perfectly matches the sword. The only problem is that the inside of the sheath leaves a saw dust residue that sticks to the blade because of the lubricant. When first drawn the blade looked horrible because it makes the sword look imperfect at first glance.

Case: I wasn't even expecting a case or the covering that the sword came in. The covering is black with white on the inside, its very thin, but is great. The case was red with designs similar to the guard, its made out of plywood and may ship bent in areas like mine, but it works well and was a bonus to my purchase in my book.

Overall, this was an amazing purchase, I bought it at $89.00 USD, but is well worth the original price of $202.00 USD
