Vision Team Mini TT Clip-on Aero Bars Review

I purchased these bars thinking they would be a compromise of a larger full extension aero bar and I think I got exactly that. These bars are smaller and lighter than full clipons, and UCI draft legal. My plan was to use them for longer flat rides where I needed the aero position for max speed on the flats for short periods of time. But here is what I discovered:
1. Position is definitely a compromise, almost as aero as full clipons such as profile t1+, etc, but the short extensions and pad position over the handlebar make your contact point on your arm around the middle of your forearm. Not very comfortable and I have a hard time staying in this position for very long.
2. Weight is a bit less than most full sized clipon's as to be expected. Mine weighed 366g
3. Since the pads are in a fixed position directly over the tops of your bars, they take away this hand position that I use for climbing. There is only room to grasp the top of the bar outboard near the curve. This is really annoying to me, as I have lost one of my favorite hand positions for climbing or relaxing.
4. The angle of the arm pads is NOT adjustable. Another less than comfortable design flaw of this product.
In conclusion, these are well made, light weight but have a very compromised aero position that is not very comfortable. The bars also eliminate the top of the bar hand position of your standard handlebar. Think about this before purchasing this product. In retrospect, I would only get these bars for use in triathlons where you need a UCI draft legal setup.
